Richard Peña Obando is a self- taught painter of rural origin. Some local critics from his homeland have pointed out that his topics of a single element and landscapes appear to be inside abundant colours like floating bubbles, which give Richard's paintings a unique style.
His autodidactic training and the direct influence of the observation of other techniques and of great master painters has meant that Ricahrd now has his own techniques after a lifetime of painting .
In the last ten year he has shifted the direction of his painting, having discovered how he really feels, resulting in an extremely important experience in the context of his career as a plastic painter.
Since 1990 he participated to individual and collective expositions in his country but also international (Nicaragua, Holland, Germany, Costa Rica, Finland and the United States). At the moment he resides in Holland and continues developing his style.
If you have any questions about his artwork or would like to commission a painting, please feel free to email.
